These combined works are from the Cooper’s Works series. "The Crater" is a novel by Cooper, published in 1847, set on an uninhabited volcanic island in the South Seas. A group of shipwreck survivors, including an American sea captain, encounters an isolated community of Polynesians.
"Miles Wallingford" is the sequel to Cooper's earlier work, "Afloat and Ashore." The story follows the protagonist, Miles Wallingford, as he navigates the challenges of life at sea, personal growth, and romance. Miles faces trials and tribulations and develops his character against the backdrop of the 19th-century American maritime world.
